[ She lets go of his hand and turns towards the laptop. Her hands rest in her lap, and she looks contemplative a moment before letting out a deep, frustrated sigh. ]

Jeez, you're really stubborn. I guess I just have a different view from where I'm sittin', y'know? I mean... I'm immortal, and a lotta people are gonna come and go in my lifetime.

[ Her hands ball into fists. ]

I just wanna take advantage of every opportunity that I can... "forever" is a long time to live with regret.

It does put a different perspective on it, though. And he exhales a sigh through his nose. Of course, she has all the time in the world, while he has maybe another seventy years, at best. Still an amount of time almost impossible to fathom for a boy who'd barely been himself for years, but still.]

[ Roxy realizes a little too late that she's putting him in an awkward spot. She's not being fair. Besides, he likes someone else. ]

[ She turns to face him again, frowning deeply. God, she's the worst. She just can't keep it in her pants long enough to consider other peoples' feelings, so it's no wonder she's single. Nobody wants a girl who's so desperate. It's just pathetic. ]

[ Roxy's face turns red. When he lays his forehead on her shoulder, she wraps her arms around him and holds him tightly, securely, pressing her nose against his hair. She won't tell him she's actually falling in love with him. Like things need to be any more complicated. ]

Sooo we won't? I value your friendship more than anything, Hina. That's not what I-- [ Stop that train of thought right there, missy, we just went over this. ]

Why don't you ask that Hajime girl out? You like her, don't you? Even if it's not long term... maybe it could work out for you two. Who knows? Maybe we'll even find a way to stay together after we fix this planet so you and Hajime can be together forever!

[See, things like "together forever" are part of why Roxy comes on a bit too strong for him. He doesn't even know if Hajime is remotely interested in him other than the one time she'd kissed his hand. And, well, the fact that they were sleeping next to each other during the nightmares. That's important, too.

But still. When Hinata has so many responsibilities at home, so many things that he wouldn't want to involve someone in, someone he cares about... It gets complicated. Maybe needlessly so!

[He relaxes against her shoulder, pretending like he really didn't know what she'd actually meant. She'd be able to find someone else on this base, someone like her who could commit so easily.]

[ Roxy sighs. He's even more stubborn than she remembers, but that's okay. She'll just have to work even harder to get him to crack. He's her friend and she wants him to feel as happy and fulfilled as possible. If she can't do that for him, then she'll find some other way! It's the perfect plan. ]

Then don't use your fuckin' "talents", dummy. Use your words.

[ She holds him, petting his hair affectionately... trying to get his ahoge to stay down and failing... wtf is his hair made of anyway?! ]

Ask her out.

[He closes his eyes at the touch of her fingers in his hair, relaxing even further in spite of himself. His hair is perhaps surprisingly soft for how stupidly spiky it is. No luck getting the ahoge to lay flat, but at least it won't literally stab her or anything. That's saved for comic relief.

If he were a cat, he'd be purring, though. God damn having his hair pet feels so nice.]

I did, kind of. A while back... Dirk and Jake wanted me to go with them on a double date and told me I had to ask someone. I suggested asking Ichinose, or Sonia, or Tsumiki, and Dirk just immediately said I had to ask Ichinose. I didn't realize how perceptive he was, back then. Or... how obvious I was.

[It was rly fuckin obvious.]

So whenever they finish their skating rink, apparently that's something we're doing. It's not a romantic thing, though, it's just as friends.
