[ She's due for another round of medicine anyway. The pain's returning, making it feel like molten lava is pumping through her veins, like her head's going to explode, like her muscles had a meat tenderizer taken to them.
Too bad there's no medicine for all her other symptoms, though. ]
[He switches his grip quickly, shifting to wrap his arm around her waist to give her some support and start walking toward the door. Farewell, apple cookies... hopefully someone will find them and enjoy them.]
Are you fine to walk? I can carry you, it's no trouble.
[ Roxy had felt somewhat decent before she got to the observatory, and that's why she left the med bay in the first place. She needed a change of scenery so bad, she'd even take staring at the fucking ocean over a blank wall. But when they stand and she tries to take her first step, sharp, stabbing pains course through her mind and body, causing her knees to go out from underneath her.
[Yeah, that sure does answer that. He doesn't let her hit the ground, though, moving with an almost supernatural quickness shift his grip again, one arm behind her back, the other sweeping the back of her knees to hoist her into a princess-carry. Because he's just that much of a fucking deus ex machina after the canon update.]
[ Struggling to catch her breath as if she just ran a marathon, Roxy's fever is beginning to spike. Not only does she feel like she's on fire, but she's hot to the touch as well. ]
Just leave me here.
[ She can't even remember why she cares about the people here, anyway. ]
[His lips quirk in a wry, self-deprecating smile as he moves quickly through the halls; for as quickly as he's walking, he doesn't jostle her very much, keeping her at an even level. He might not be able to flashstep like a Strider, but he is fast, getting her to the medbay in minutes and laying her down gently on the closest bed. Another second, and there's a bowl next to her if she still feels sick, and Hinata's rummaging through the cabinet to find something that might at least alleviate the nausea, if not the fever.]
[ Curling up with a pillow on the bed, Roxy grips it tight as she tries to will herself to relax against the surges of pain that keep assaulting her mind, body, and soul. She watches him move about the room with half-lidded eyes, barely even registering what he's doing as her mind does that out-of-body experience bullshit again. She's really tired of feeling like none of this is real. ]
Unless my soul's in there you might as well give it the fuck up.
[ He may not be good at giving up, but she's gotten better at it lately. She can't help but think the Void did her a favor by turning her into an empty shell-- at least her attitude matches what's going on inside, now. ]
[He pauses, fingers stilling on a bottle of painkillers. Soul... that's right. The rules of this place didn't necessarily have to follow those he was accustomed to. There were other options.]
Well, lucky for us both we have Dirk around.
[He turns, fingers hovering over his communicator.]
[ Roxy pulls her hood over her head tight, attempting to disappear underneath it. You know, because it's not like she can't very literally disappear if she really wanted to. ]
Even if I wanted to see that jackass right now, I wouldn't fuckin' dare. Do you have any idea the kind of shape he's in right now?
[He runs her a cup of water, checks the directions on the back of the pill bottle, and shakes the right amount into his hand without answering. They're all in bad shape. Dirk and Roxy arguably in the worst shape of any of them.
He can't pretend to understand it, but...]
Then what about Jake?
[He offers her the water and the pills, trying to meet her eyes in spite of her pulling her hood down.]
[ Poor Hinata. He's just trying to help... and she appreciates it, which is why she takes the pills and water and downs them both without complaint. ] Jake's hope powers are the only thing sustainin' me right now, Hinata.
[ She sets the empty glass down. ]
... Thank you. You don't gotta take care of me, you know.
[It's that simple. It seems like it's been a long time since he's felt this helpless. What good are all of his talents if he can't help his friend when she needs it...?
He sighs again, more quietly, and takes a seat on the bed beside her, closing his eyes.]
No matter what, I'm here for you. I've lost too many friends already.

No.

[He sighs through his nose, looking back and taking a bottle of pills that should help with her fever.]
I can't make any decisions for you, but if your godmode powers affected your soul... Dirk would definitely be the right person to talk to.
