week 01, monday, evening
[It's not too long after dinner that Hinata starts wandering the hotel, trying to find something to do. Even dinner had seemed to go on for ages, and while he knows this is only the first day, and he knows, logically, by looking at the clock, that it hadn't been very long at all... it's hard to shake the feeling.
But maybe most importantly, thanks to his immunity, he feels he should take the opportunity to speak with as many people as possible. To gauge how they might be feeling without fear of immediate repercussion, or worse, ending up as a victim himself. There's several people he's wanted to follow up with, but hasn't made time yet, until...]
Ah, Field-!
[He spots her as she's heading down the stairs, glancing around quickly before moving to intercept. His hands are open at his sides, trying to look as non-threatening as possible.]
Hey, uh... where are you headed?

Ah, Field-!
[He spots her as she's heading down the stairs, glancing around quickly before moving to intercept. His hands are open at his sides, trying to look as non-threatening as possible.]
Hey, uh... where are you headed?

[Oh good, he's visibly relieved to be heading upstairs instead of outside. He really does not like the cold these days, though he's getting used to it.]
As far as I can tell... it seems to be totally random. There's... no real similarities between any of us except a few, like Poland and Lithuania, and uh... Xerxes and Gilbert. The two skeletons, too. So it seems to be either pairs or nothing. Faize and Vegeta are both aliens but the way they talk about Earth is just... really different, which makes me think that they're not related at all. And no one here has heard of Hope's Peak.
What about you? Has there been anyone here who seems like they might be from a similar situation to yours, before you came here?

[She hums contemplatively as she continues up the stairs and down the hall, though—not anywhere in particular, just moving for the sake of it. There had been an almost with Sadie, but if she didn't even blink at Clover's question...]
Well... I think I overheard a few people talking about how their profiles had stuff no one was supposed to know in them. [She says this carefully, hoping to keep him from thinking she's one of them.] But, like, they probably didn't mean no one literally. So what if we look at who would know that information and see what everyone else recognizes?
[Pppause. She didn't answer the question did she.] Because, um, I've got nothing for similarities with me.
no subject
[He does notice how she doesn't answer the question immediately, though he doesn't comment on it just yet. Instead, he just hums, keeping pace with her and glancing to her as she speaks.]
That's a good idea. Finding things that people recognize... so far the only one I've really gotten that most people recognize is "Earth" as a planet, though.
[From his tone, it's pretty obvious he's not impressed with that deduction.]
What you said about... an "experiment," when we were talking to Sadie, [he continues, just as carefully,] No one else had said anything about it either, right?
no subject
No. [She's a little more curt than she means, either, but if she even noticed, she wouldn't particularly care.] No one said anything, so that's not helping.
no subject
Okay... well, speaking of Sadie, what do you think about people working in pairs? For protection. It's something she suggested.
no subject
The subject change, though—] But it might be hard making pairs. A lot of people don't trust each other. And nobody's gonna want to be stuck with, like, the violent meathead or Super Weenie Hut Juniors. [Maybe use people's names, jeez, Clover.]
no subject
[Don't say him, Clover, that's so rude-!!]
Rhys? He's the one I'm most worried about.

No, I don't know... You'd think that, but he seems like the kind of person who's pushed too hard, he might snap. And don't forget, he's got... robot parts, or something.
[What are cyborgs outside of manga, he just doesn't know.
But he pauses for a second and just shakes his head, pressing his lips together briefly.]
Sorry, I'm not... trying to be suspicious of anyone. I'd like to think nothing bad is going to happen, but...
[Looks @ shounens, please calm down.]
no subject
[She hums again, thoughtful, before turning back to Hinata, head tilted.]
Don't apologize. You need to be suspicious of everyone. I mean, it's nice to think that way, but you heard what she said.
no subject
[He shakes his head again with a pained grimace.]
Yeah... you're right. Until we get to know each other, we have no way of knowing what motives might affect people the most strongly. Or if it'll even take a motive at all, in the future.
no subject
Just being here's gonna be motive enough eventually. [She says this flatly, like someone might concede that the weather's going to ruin their plans for later in the week.] And then what? We take a guess at who might kill someone when we get a motive and what do we do with them then?
no subject
[That sounds super dangerous to both the phone and the brain involved!!]
But yeah, that's what I mean. If we can take a guess, then... we can set up a guard, or an escort. Or... something. I just want as many of us to go home to our normal lives as we can.
What's it like for you, at home?
no subject
[But twenty nine people are going to die here. She's learned better by now; that's just how it is.
A sigh turns into a contemplative hum at his question.] Mmm. That's the kind of question you ask to get to know me better so you know what might motivate me to kill, right? [CLOVER THIS IS WHY IT'S SO HARD FOR YOU TO MAKE FRIENDS]
no subject
[Ah wait no-! He shakes his head and holds up both hands as if to display that he doesn't mean any harm.]
That's not it, really! I just... thought maybe it'd be nice to talk about something else for a change.
[But she's not wrong.]
If it makes you feel better, I can tell you about mine, but there's not much to tell.
