i'll do what i can. like i've told people before, i'm really only trained to work with human brains. if you're not human, that can make things more complicated. i know you're a doctor, but how familiar are you with neuroscience? i can explain what i need to do, and you can tell me if it's possible for you.

or, maybe we can come up with something else. i'm willing to try.

The last time I had the chance to properly study the human body was in the eighteenth century. I know mostly about the brain's anatomy, but not so much of its physiology. If you have books that I can consult, I will refresh my memory and return afterward.

I am a form of spirit named a Servant. We are composed of magical energy, and part of our memories reside in a plane entirely separate from this one. If you cut open my head, I am not sure if you will find something similar to that of a human's. However, I can heal myself if given appropriate sources. If you wish to attempt that, I will prepare myself.

Sorey told me of another method involving psyching oneself and trying to recall the hidden memories. Does this process require any physical modifications?

i'm not going to cut open your head. if it's the method i used before to stimulate neurons, it's non-invasive.

i don't know anything about psyching someone... are you talking about hypnotism? it's sketchy science at best, but it can work. what happens there is sort of similar to what i'd mentioned about stimulating neurons, just in a different way. i know how to do hypnosis, but explaining it is kind of tricky. if you're looking for "psyching," you might want to press sorey for more information on that

I believe he was referring to the stimulating of neurons, yes. Magecraft is of a different issue altogether.

i'm not sure i understand the question. if you're asking about the location... memories are stored throughout the limbic system. it's not like i'm looking at particular cells in the same precise location in everyone. that's not how memories work. sure, some things are going to be stored by say, the visual cortex, but something like this isn't going to be something i can point to on a chart for everyone.

Then there is a complication with my memory. I have memories in this body, but another part of my memory is stored in another realm, outside of the jurisdiction of time. Therefore I assume only the former will be testable.

i'm still not going to cut your brain open but i would like to take a look to see how something like that is possible. since that kind of sounds like it would violate a lot of laws of physics, if it's true.

anyway stimulation is just an electrical signal. that's how information moves through the brain, is with electricity. the simplest way to explain it is that i'm stimulating an area that's gone "dark" and reestablishing a connection so the brain knows that memory is there. like rebuilding a bridge.

Magecraft does not necessarily obey the laws of physics, in my world. That could be the cause. I am willing to discuss it with you, if you would like to know more.
